Quests

Wood production

From level 2
  • Produce at least 3 Pinewood.
Story

As you already know, we will need a lot of wood to have enough building materials. You should always have some in stock so you don't run short.

On completion: Having a little stock is never a bad thing. Don't forget to check your storehouses regularly to see if anything is missing.

Plank production

From level 3
  • Produce at least 3 Pinewood Plank(s).
Story

Ah, plank production is already working effectively as far as I can see. You should also raise your stock of planks a bit.

On completion: You are developing quickly. This should be enough for wood production to get started. Let's get on with the next resource.

The letter

From level 3
  • Add Pinewood Planks from your star menu to your stock.
  • Add Pinewood from your star menu to your stock.
  • Add Stone from your star menu in your stock.
  • Open the mail window.
Story

Looks like the letter is from your brother Theodor, and there's a package of resources accompanying it. I took the liberty of adding the resources to your star menu, and you can read the letter in your mailbox. I am curious to know what your brother wants to tell you.

On completion: Very strange… Usually, your brother doesn't give things away for free. Let's hope he is not up to something bad. Anyway, we should get back to your settlers. There are still important things missing in the basic services.

Instant build

From level 4
  • Use "instant build" to finish the construction of a building instantly.
Story

Phew! Building a tavern can take quite a while. Did you know that it's possible to finish construction more quickly? As soon as something is in your building queue, you can finish it instantly by clicking the blue diamond. It just costs a few gems.

On completion: Wow, did you see how fast that was? Amazing! And I heard it works with all buildings. Furthermore, it also functions for building upgrades - you just have to click on the specific building. Just keep an eye on the prices, as they can differ.

Multiple deposits

From level 5
  • Find 1 new Stone deposit(s).
Story

Did I mention that it is possible to have several deposits at the same time? Just send your geologist out more often. An additional stone deposit always comes in handy.

On completion: Of course this is true for every deposit, not just stone. Always remember that deposits become depleted after a certain time, so it's good to have another one as a replacement.

Time is money

From level 5
  • Halve the time of a specialist.
Story

Specialists always need a certain amount of time to fulfill their tasks. As you progress, your times will become longer and longer. However, if you do not like to wait, you can shorten them with just one click. Try it!

On completion: See? It's dead easy. You can do this with all specialist tasks. It will pay off, especially for the treasure search, but we will come to that later. For now, let's continue with our plan.

Building construction order

From level 6
  • click · BuildingQueueUp
Story

I noticed that there have been a lot of buildings in your building construction queue lately. I should remind you firstly that it is possible to buy temporary or permanent construction slots, and secondly, that you can change the order of the buildings with the arrows. Try it out!

On completion: Do you like it? It is always a good option to have an important building at the end of the construction queue. By the way, temporary building slots can be bought from the bottom of the list, and permanent ones can be acquired at the merchant's.

A little comfort

From level 6
  • click · TrackQuest
  • click · PinToolbox
Story

If you have a little time, I would like to share two things with you: First, you can track quests by clicking the small box next to the quests in the quest book, and secondly, you can pin the building menu if you want to prevent it from closing, when you are building streets, for example. Take a look.

On completion: Pretty useful features, am I right? Keeping the quests in sight is particularly handy. But I have kept you from your business long enough. Don't let me delay you any further.

Still lacking stone

From level 7
  • Produce at least 5 Stone.
Story

With the added resources from Theodor, we should have enough of nearly everything except stone. Produce some, because we'll be needing a lot of it during our upcoming challenges.

On completion: Very good. This amount of stone should be sufficient for the upcoming buildings. However, you should always continue producing stone.

Important details

From level 8
  • Select a 1.
  • click · GAMESTATE_ID_BUILDING_INFO_PANEL.Sawmill.Details
  • Make the production time of a Pinewood Sawmill Sawmill min sec or less.
Story

It's important always to keep production paths as short as possible. The shorter they are, the faster certain workyards will produce. You can see the path lengths in the details tab for your workyards, or directly when you are about to construct a building. Moving buildings can help you make production as effective as possible.

On completion: That's how it works! When you have a little deficit in your economic overview you don't necessarily have to build a new building. Sometimes simply upgrading or repositioning a building, like just now, is sufficient.

Don't forget to buff

From level 8
  • Select a 1.
  • Produce at least 3 Fish Platter.
Story

Remember buffs? Producing buffs takes some time, but you usually need them on short notice. That's why I recommend you always have some in stock.

On completion: That is correct. You can do a lot with this. Don't forget that you need resources to create buffs, such as fish in this case. Do you have enough left?

The base of buffs

From level 8
  • Produce at least 3 Fish.
Story

Since we have produced enough buffs, it's time to reproduce the fish, because when the basic resource of the buffs is exhausted, no more buffs can be produced.

On completion: Your fishermen were really hard working. Seems like they are really satisfied under your leadership. Now the first part of your economy is finished, we can go a step further.

The mine window

From level 9
  • Select a 1.
  • click · GAMESTATE_ID_BUILDING_INFO_PANEL.BronzeMine.Details
  • Make the production time of a Copper Mine BronzeMine min sec or less.
Story

In contrast to workyards like masons, mines have to be placed directly upon the deposits. As I told you a while ago, you have to keep production times short. Of course, you cannot reposition buildings - but what you can do is to build a storehouse near your mines. That keeps production times short, too.

On completion: As you may have noticed, storehouses are not cheap, but having them pays off as they can shorten production times for several buildings at once. If you ever find yourself with a number of buildings whose production times are too long, just place a warehouse nearby.

A new copper search

From level 10
  • Find 1 new Copper Ore deposit(s).
Story

By the way, have you been sending your geologist out regularly to find new deposits? Remember, you can always have more than one deposit at a time. How about searching for copper?

On completion: It's good that you claimed that sector. It seems to be rich in copper. I'm already excited about what the other sectors might hold.

Allies

From level 10
  • Add 1 or more friends to your friends list.
Story

I see that a lot of other settlers have settled very close to you. Maybe you should become friends with some of them? Having allies is never a bad thing…

On completion: Very good - strong allies will definitely prove useful. Social skills are very important. You should never underestimate that.

New suggestions

From level 10
  • Visit at least 1 friend(s).
Story

I've just returned from visiting one of your neighbours. A really nice island with interesting building structures. Why don't you visit your neighbour's islands yourself?

On completion: And did you like the islands? Of course you should always go your own way, but considering suggestions doesn't hurt.

Coal for the king

From level 11
  • Produce at least 5 Coal.
  • Pay 5 Coal from your storage.
Story

Good to see you. I just received a message from the king. He has heard about you producing coal already. Right now he needs some, and asks whether you can accord him some.

On completion: That is very kind of you. The king sends you his best wishes and regards.

Do not forget the economy

From level 12
  • Produce at least 5 tool(s) in your workyards.
Story

I know Lord Sardin is a bit severe and has you really busy, but despite all that, don't forget your economy, especially your tool production. Is it going well?

On completion: I see you have everything under control. I just wanted to be sure, but it looks like I worry too much.

Mutual help

From level 12
  • Buff at least 1 of your friends' buildings.
Story

So, do you get on with Sardin? He might seem a bit rude but he is a brilliant tactician. But let's get back on topic; the king attaches great importance to neighbourly help at the moment. I think it would be good to join forces with one of your neighbours and help them.

On completion: The king has noted your efforts appreciatively. I congratulate you. You are really doing excellently. Keep it up!

Who has more wheat?

From level 14
  • Have at least 3 Wheatfield(s) on your island.
Story

Please excuse the interruption, but I have a small favor to ask of you. A farmer from a neighbouring country has made a bet that his farm has more wheat and water, and I want to prove him wrong. So, we'll be needing more wheat fields!

On completion: That's really generous of you. With so many wheat fields, we should definitely win the bet.

Who has more wells?

From level 14
  • Have at least 2 Well(s) on your island.
Story

All we need now is some additional wells, and I will win the bet. Would you be so kind and help me once more?

On completion: Ha ha! That made him look really stupid. He didn't bargain with that. I thank you very much. Please take some of my gains as a sign of my gratitude.

To multiply the harvest

From level 14
  • Use 2x buffs on your own island.
  • Use 2x buffs on your own island.
Story

We have a lot to harvest on our farm. If you were willing to support us with food, we could multiply our yield. And that would be fantastic, wouldn't it? If you're feeling extra kind, you could give some food to the workers at your small wells as well!

On completion: Super! Thank you very much. You will not regret this, believe me. I will begin to help with the harvest immediately.

Good preparation

From level 15
  • Have at least 2 Farm(s) on your island.
Story

Please excuse me. I know you are very busy, but I won't disturb you for long. I just wanted to say that as soon as we begin producing bread, we'll be needing a lot of wheat. Maybe it would be best to build farms now so you don't have to deal with it later on?

On completion: Thank you for following my advice. I'm looking forward to the bread production already. Please contact me if you need my help with it.

Wheat ahead

From level 15
  • Produce at least 5 Wheat.
Story

I see you have built multiple farms. That's good, because soon we'll be needing horses, and they consume a lot of wheat. It would be best to anticipate and start production now.

On completion: So, the advice from the farmer was good after all. With this production we are well prepared for the horse breeding that will soon be upon us.

Settler shortage

From level 15
  • click · PopulationTooltip
  • Select a 1.
  • Produce at least 5 Traveller Family.
  • Add 5 Settlers from your star menu to the mayor's house.
Story

When did you last have a look at the settlers overview? I am just asking because you are running out of settlers again. I don't mean to bother you, I just want to make sure that you have enough of them when you need them. If you have enough space for settlers, you can hire some for bread in the provision house.

On completion: Works fine, right? By the way, you can hire different numbers of settlers for bread. You can even store them in your star menu, meaning that you can produce them ahead of time.

Help for the comrade

From level 16Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 100 Pinewood in your storage.
Story

A former comrade from the military academy has asked me to help him. He has received orders to defend a village and doesn't have enough bows. I really want to help him. First of all, we'll need a large amount of wood.

On completion: Hmm… I just told him we would help him, and straight away he asked for more bows. He's always been like that - you give him your pinky and he takes off the whole hand.

Don't forget to use trade

From level 16Skip: 49 gems
  • Buy at least 500 Bronze Sword(s) from other players.
  • Buy at least 500 Tool(s) from other players.
  • Buy at least 500 Brew from other players.
Story

Did you remember to involve trade in your planning? You have a great task ahead of you, and you should not hesitate to use your military. The king will be very happy if you do!

On completion: It's amazing how fast the consumption of brew and swords has increased. But you should not, of course, neglect your production for trade, because selling extra production is also a good source of income.

Requested stone

From level 17Skip: 49 gems
  • Sell at least 200 Stone to other players.
  • Experience Points× 20
  • Bread× 100
Story

My greetings. How is your military planning going? I just saw that you have a trade office now. That's fantastic news! I know the mayor of a neighbouring town who also has one. He needs stone. Maybe you can trade some?

On completion: Wow, that functions quite well. I am really amazed. So now everything is possible for you. By the way, the mayor sends you his thanks. You really helped him out.

Increased consumption

From level 18Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 200 Hardwood Planks in your storage.
  • Experience Points× 20
  • Bows× 20
Story

Greetings. I have a small problem. The consumption of hardwood planks has increased a lot lately, especially since your orders for building new residences. I would be very grateful if you could raise stocks a little bit.

On completion: Thank you. Now I can continue working without problems. I have a feeling that a lot of new construction orders are about to come in.

From level 18Skip: 49 gems

  • Experience Points× 20
  • Stones× 100
Story

A kind of fortuneteller has just arrived in your city and has asked for a solid sandwich. If you help him, he says he will tell your future. Generally, I am not superstitious, but maybe we should grant his request.

On completion: I brought him the plate and I was asked to tell you thank you, and that a bright future awaits you, with a huge army, great city and lots of capital. However, that's what they always tell you.

Nothing but hot air

From level 19Skip: 49 gems
  • Produce at least 10 Bow(s).
  • Pay 10 Bow(s) from your storage.
Story

We agreed on 100 bows. I wonder what he wants to do with them. You could almost win a war with that many. Whatever, it's worth it, believe me.

On completion: Why did I insist on helping him? I made a bet with another former student that the time will come when he would need my help. Back then, he had rich parents and bragged about it, but I knew it was nothing but hot air.

Multiple deposits

From level 19Skip: 49 gems
  • Find 1 new Marble deposit(s).
Story

How do you like the new resources? You can make a lot out of them. Remember that marble deposits deplete quite fast. When you have several, the stonecutter will always choose the nearest one.

On completion: Of course that also applies to stone deposits. You should always have multiple deposits on your island.

A group of raiders

From level 19Skip: 49 gems
  • Use 5x Solid Sandwich buffs on your own island.
  • Experience Points× 15
  • Flour× 20
Story

I've heard talk of a group of raiders approaching. Should they decide to rest here, we will need more wheat to secure the supply of horses.

On completion: Now we should have enough wheat to supply them, should they decide to rest here. In case they decide otherwise, we can still use the wheat ourselves.

The trapped child

From level 20Skip: 49 gems
  • Find 1 new Iron Ore deposit(s).
  • Experience Points× 20
  • Marble× 50
Story

Something terrible has happened. One of the children has gone into a mine and the mine collapsed after them. Can you help us find the kid? It was an iron mine.

On completion: Thank you for your help, but please hurry. We don't have much time. Maybe the child is trapped and cannot breath.

The rescue

From level 20Skip: 49 gems
  • Produce at least 50 iron ore in your workyards.
  • Have at least 2 Iron Mine(s) on your island.
Story

As soon as you build a mine on the deposit, we can start searching. Your mine workers can help search while they are digging.

On completion: Thank goodness, we found the child. That was close. I will go immediately and tell everybody to stay away from the mines.

Additional wells

From level 20Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 2 Deep Well(s) on your island.
  • Experience Points× 20
  • Wheat× 50
Story

Greetings. I've just seen the assignment for the construction of stables. Have you taken into account that horses also need water? You should think about building additional wells.

On completion: The construction of the wells you ordered is completed. It's nice that you always take my advice seriously. I appreciate it.

Increased water consumption

From level 20Skip: 49 gems
  • Produce at least 100 Water.
  • Experience Points× 10
  • Brew× 50
Story

Finally we can train cavalry ourselves. How is water production going? We need water for brew as well as the horses, but I don't think there's any chance we will run short of it.

On completion: I see that water production seems to be quite effective. Don't neglect it, or the cavalry training will cease.

Water and trading

From level 20Skip: 49 gems
  • Sell at least 400 Water to other players.
  • Experience Points× 15
  • Marble× 50
Story

Oh, you've expanded your water production a little bit. I assume that was upon the advice of Lord Sardin. Either way, it's a good move, because I took a look at trading, and it seems water is a fine good to trade with.

On completion: And how did it go? Not bad, right? By the way, they say the merchant sells a watermill which produces water from an inexhaustible water deposit. However, it is not particularly cheap.

Bread for the relatives

From level 21Skip: 49 gems
  • Produce at least 80 Bread.
  • Pay 40 Bread from your storage.
Story

The bread our bakery produces tastes really good. I have a favor to ask of you. In a few days' time, some of my relatives will be coming to visit me. Could you please provide us some bread?

  • Select a 1.
  • Produce at least 5 Aunt Irma's Gift Basket.
  • Experience Points× 40

The green initiative

From level 22Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 3 Hardwood Forester(s) on your island.
  • Experience Points× 30
  • Meat× 150
Story

Yesterday we received a newsletter which went to all nearby lands. It is an invitation to the so-called green initiative, which encourages a more responsible attitude to nature. We should take part and build a forester or two.

On completion: Good, the construction of the forester was well received. I was concerned whether that would suffice. For the future we should consider something else, because I think this will not be the last time we hear about this initiative.

Wood for longbows

From level 22Skip: 49 gems
  • Use 3x Aunt Irma's Gift Basket buffs on your own island.
  • Experience Points× 30
  • Bread× 50
Story

Do not get distracted by this... What was his name? Klaus? The little fat man, you know who I mean. Do not get too distracted by him. We need hard wood for longbows. Maybe you could increase the production outcome for a short time.

On completion: It's much better that way. Don't forget to keep an eye on your weapon production, as you need your army when expanding your land. And even if you have enough units, weapons are a fantastic good to trade with.

Coal for training

From level 23Skip: 49 gems
  • Find 1 new Coal deposit(s).
Story

Lord Sardin has come to me with an unusual request. I think he was a bit too embarrassed to tell you directly. He says he needs coal for the training of his units, but he didn't want to tell me exactly how he was going to use it. Just send your explorer to find a coal deposit.

On completion: Maybe you're wonder why you were supposed to search for a coal deposit. Well, Henry told me he is now able to build coal mines, and they are way more effective than the coking plant. This is a good time to try out the new mines.

The coal mine

From level 23Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 1 level CoalMine,CoalMineEndless building(s) from the following list: .
  • Pay 50 Coal from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 10
  • Horse× 100
Story

Now the only thing left to do is commission the construction of the mine. Meanwhile, I will try to find out why exactly Lord Sardin wants coal. I'd really like to know.

On completion: I just returned from the barracks. The troops had all painted their faces black. Looked really frightening. I think it's camouflage training. Very strange.

Gold deposits

From level 24Skip: 49 gems
  • Find 1 new Gold Ore deposit(s).
Story

One of our geologists just came and told me he thinks we have gold on our island, although he wasn't sure. He needs more time to find out. Send your geologist out to find a gold deposit. Maybe we'll get lucky.

On completion: I don't believe it - we really do have gold on this island. That is fantastic! Before we begin to bank it, we should check whether we have multiple deposits and how rich they are. Coin production is quite expensive.

The price of gold

From level 23Skip: 49 gems
  • Buy at least 400 Coin(s) from other players.
  • Experience Points× 15
  • Coal× 100
Story

Hmm… constructing coin production should be handled very carefully, but I have to admit I don't have enough experience to give out advice. What do you think about trading a little with coins to get a feeling for their value?

On completion: So, what do you think? Did you get an impression? With coins, you can do a lot of different things, not just trade but also hire new specialists. For the moment though, it's a little early to you build your own means of production.

Ways to the gold

From level 24Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 600 Coins in your storage.
  • Experience Points× 15
  • Coal× 100
Story

You can produce coins yourself, trade them, buy them from the merchant or find them on your adventures. Sometimes, even your explorer will take some coins back. Try out all the possible ways and when you are feeling confident, we'll start organizing your own coin production.

On completion: You've really managed to gather quite a solid amount of capital. Did you have any difficulties? Sleep on it, it and if you still want coin production, we'll start work on it. Meanwhile, you should be able to evaluate it yourself.

Retired bandits

From level 24Skip: 49 gems
  • Acquire at least 400 Bread.
  • Produce at least 25 Retired Bandits.
  • Experience Points× 20
  • Coins× 100
Story

Wow, producing units really takes a lot of time, especially when you have to wait for settlers to move to your city. If you need settlers faster, you can attract them with bread. For example, you can hire Retired Bandits in exchange for bread at your provisions house.

On completion: Not bad is it? Now, you just have to use the buff on the mayor's house, and you'll have 75 extra settlers immediately. If you need to bump up your numbers quickly, you can use this method any time to gain settlers.

Increased coal consumption

From level 25Skip: 49 gems
  • Have at least 1000 Coal in your storage.
Story

Greetings. I see that you are going to begin your own steel production. A good decision - Steel is a fantastic material. Just remember that it will require more coal, so you had better raise your stocks.

On completion: Very good. Now we will be able to work, and steel production can begin. I will return to my work and make sure production goes smoothly.

The first goldmine

From level 25Skip: 49 gems
  • Have 1 level GoldMine,GoldMineEndless gold mine(s) of any type on your island.
Story

So, did you sleep on it? Coin production, I mean. If you want your own production, you'll need a goldmine first, and they don't come cheap, so try to keep the mine running as long as possible.

On completion: To keep the mine replenished, you can buy refills from the merchant. If you are unable to keep the mine going, just destroy it shortly before it collapses. That way, the craftsmen can recuperate some of the construction resources.

Earning respect

From level 26Skip: 99 gems
  • Adventure · TheIslandOfThePirates × 500
  • Adventure · Horseback × 500
Story

I hope you do not become too cocky. You definitely mastered the first adventure, but have you also managed to complete the other ones? To earn my respect, you first have to complete the more difficult adventures with fewer losses.

On completion: Hmm… I wasn't expecting that. I have to admit, that wasn't bad. But you have not arrived at the Mount Olympus of adventures just yet. There's still a long way to go.

New interest

From level 27Skip: 99 gems
  • Use 1x Aunt Irma's Gift Basket buffs on your own island.
  • Experience Points× 5
  • Iron× 100
Story

I see you've become interested in adventures lately. I am not sure where your interest comes from, but I like it. Military experience is never a bad thing, and I would advise you to boost your weapon production.

On completion: With the additional steel you produce, you can make more steel swords, and with additional steel swords you can train more soldiers.

Everything under control

From level 27Skip: 99 gems
  • Produce at least 200 Steel.
Story

You've really been quite busy with your adventures. Did you lose a lot of units? Producing more always takes some time. How about steel production? Do you already have enough steel in stock to train a solid amount of soldiers?

On completion: Well, you seem to have everything under control, even during your adventures. I just wanted to be sure. Very well then, we'll soon be able to begin training the soldiers.

Secret trade

From level 27Skip: 99 gems
  • Produce at least 100 Steel Sword(s).
  • Pay 20 Steel Sword(s) from your storage.
Story

Wow, steel swords. They really look strong. Could you allocate some of them to me? I will give you something really useful in return. You had better produce some more to cover those you give me, and make sure no-one gets suspicious.

On completion: Cool, thank you. With that I can realise my project. What? Oh, nothing special. I just want to help a village defend itself against constant attacks.

Buffing buildings

From level 27Skip: 99 gems
  • Use 5x buffs on your own island.
Story

And how is the goldmine going? You should always try to buff your goldmine as effectively as possible. The more expensive the production of a resource, the more it pays off to buff a building.

On completion: Just like that! In doing so you can get way more resources out of the mine. By now, you probably know where to get or produce buffs. The merchant has some more effective ones for sale too.

Upgraded farms

From level 28Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 4 level Farm,ImprovedFarm building(s) from the following list: .
  • Produce at least 200 Wheat.
Story

Greetings. I wanted to give you a status report for your farms. Production itself is running well, but some farms would work a bit more effectively if you provided them with some resources for upgrading.

On completion: The farmers just told me that your materials have arrived and are already being utilized. Since the machines can work better now, and there is more space, they produce a lot more.

A little stock of gold ore

From level 28Skip: 99 gems
  • Produce at least 200 Gold Ore.
Story

Soon we'll be able to begin the second stage of coin production. First though, I would recommend creating a small stock of gold ore, because the gold smelter needs quite a lot of it.

On completion: That should suffice. I never thought production would take that long, but gold ore is always very deep in the mountain. That explains why settlers take so long to extract it.

Different adventures

From level 29Skip: 99 gems
  • Experience at least 5 new Adventure(s).
Story

Pssst… It is me. I've discovered there are a lot of different adventures with differing enemy types and islands. In any case, you should try out multiple ones.

On completion: And how did you like them? Experiencing adventures is a lot of fun, isn't it? And you can discover the coolest things during them. Also, you may occasionally find new adventures that even your explorer can't.

Effective adventures

From level 29Skip: 99 gems
  • Adventure · TheDarkPriests × 500
  • Adventure · WitchOfTheSwamp × 500
Story

However, as always, you should not be satisfied with simply completing them - they consume your resources, so try to use as few units as possible.

On completion: Quite difficult, isn't it? But that is how you should always try to do your adventures - consume as little as possible to get the most out of the adventure. Anyway, I have to go before someone spots me.

Preparation for coin production

From level 30Skip: 99 gems
  • Find 1 new Coal deposit(s).
  • Have at least 3 level CoalMine,CoalMineEndless building(s) from the following list: .
Story

My greetings. Sir Oliver rendezvoused with me a few minutes ago to plan the construction of a gold smelter. You should remember that a gold smelter needs coal to produce gold bars, so you should acquire enough coal mines beforehand.

On completion: Don't get me wrong. I just wanted to inform you before you run out of coal, and the other production chains that need it also stop producing. I wish you the best of luck for your coin production.

The gold smelter

From level 30Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 1 Gold Smelter(s) on your island.
Story

Well, now it's time to construct the gold smelter. I see you have already stocked up on coal in preparation for coin production. Very commendable. If you continue like that, soon you will no longer need my help.

On completion: Now we have nearly everything we need for coin production. Pretty intensive, don't you think? I told you. However, coins are one of the most valuable resources you can have, so it does pay off.

The stonecutter competition

From level 31Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 8000 Marble in your storage.
Story

I hope I'm not disturbing you. I have a favor to ask of you. There is an ancient tradition among the stone cutters that requires them to participate in a competition to see who produces marble most effectively. Could you be the adjudicator? We'll produce up to a certain stock capacity and see who has contributed the most.

On completion: That was a really exciting competition. Thank you very much for your help. Although this competition is held only once every ten years, I would be very happy for you to take part again next time too. If you need to find me, I'll be back at my work.

A challenge

From level 31Skip: 99 gems
  • Adventure · TheDarkPriests × 300
  • Adventure · Horseback × 100
Story

Pssst… I've brought you something. In your star menu you can find two adventures I found during my journey. If you manage to complete them without incurring great losses, I have something cool for you.

On completion: Wow, that was really good. As a reward, here's a so-called decoration object. It is the latest fashion at the king's yard. To be more specific, it's a flower bed. You can place it on your island to beautify your city. You'll find it in your star menu.

Older production chains

From level 32Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 8000 Tools in your storage.
  • Have a production value of at least Tool every hour(s) for 50.
Story

Have you remembered to keep an eye on some of your older production chains? For example, check tool production. You need tools for many different buildings, so take a quick look to make sure tool production is still optimum.

On completion: So, was the production chain still balanced? Don't forget the resources not included in the economic overview, such as building costs or upgrade costs. You should always try to produce a bit more than you need of everything.

The final preparations

From level 32Skip: 99 gems
  • Produce at least 100 Gold.
  • Experience Points× 25
  • Coal× 400
Story

Similarly to the other buildings, I would recommend you produce some bars in preparation for building the coinage. While you are taking care of production, I will create my monthly report for the king.

On completion: Well, the report is finished. I really only have good things to say about you. The pre-production of gold bars is also complete, I see. This means we can commence the last step in your coin production.

More woodworm

From level 33Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 5000 Hardwood in your storage.
  • Pay 500 Hardwood from your storage.
Story

My greetings. I've noticed your woodworm problem. I am aware that it mainly concerns exotic wood, but I think the hardwood may also be infected. We should destroy our stock and start afresh.

On completion: Good. Now the woodworm is probably gone for good. It would have been annoying for it to spread to the exotic wood and be obliged to start the whole process again. I'll tell the sawmills they should keep an eye out for these things.

Coin production accomplished

From level 33Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 1 Coinage(s) on your island.
Story

Well, the time has come to construct the building that produces coins: the coinage. As you may imagine, the coinage processes gold bars into gold coins, so let's get started!

On completion: Now you are producing coins. Congratulations. I am eager to see how your coin production will go in the future. Try to upgrade these buildings as soon as possible, as it will make coin production more effective.

Map fragments as currency

From level 34Skip: 99 gems
  • Buy the following shop item: Adventure "Horseback".
Story

Say, you have these map fragments, don't you? I was just at the merchant's and saw that he offers adventures in exchange for map fragments. You should pay him a visit. It's worth looking into if your explorer isn't having much luck.

On completion: Not a bad offer, is it? You should really take a regular look at what the merchant has to offer. It changes from time to time. By the way, this adventure box contains a random adventure. Mystical…

Thrown out of the office

From level 34Skip: 99 gems
  • Adventure × 100
  • Adventure × 50
Story

Hmm… I was just thrown out of my own office by Lord Sardin. He had a young woman in tow. Now I am not sure what to do with myself. Could you take me with you on one of your adventures? I've always wanted to see what it's like.

On completion: That was really exciting. I think in the long run it would be too much for my old heart. I prefer to stay in my office and support you from there. Speaking of my office, I'll go check whether it is free again.

Enough coal

From level 35Skip: 99 gems
  • Have a production value of at least Coal every hour(s) for 0.
  • Produce at least 100 Coal.
Story

Wow, your economy really consumes a lot of coal. Do you still have enough of it? Could you please check if your coal production line is still working properly? I just need to reassure my craftspeople that there will be enough coal at their disposal.

On completion: So, how is coal production doing? Everything fine? That's comforting. In which case, I will report back to my craftspeople. They will be relieved too, I hope. Thank you very much.

Buffs and the economy overview

From level 35Skip: 99 gems
  • Have at least 3 level CoalMine,CoalMineEndless building(s) from the following list: .
Story

I've just noticed that you've overworked your coal production a little bit. Just remember that buffed production buildings can make a difference. When the buff runs out, the production rate decreases again. Try it out.

On completion: You see? Always pay attention when you are adjusting your production chains. Unless of course you buff your buildings all the time. But in this case, an additional building of the same kind might be a better alternative.

To the acid test

From level 36Skip: 149 gems
  • Produce at least 300 coin(s) in your work yards.
  • Experience Points× 120
  • Granite× 100
Story

Now it's time to give your coin production the acid test. Let's see how long you need to produce a certain amount of coins yourself. I am really curious.

On completion: So, in conclusion, what do you think of your coin production? Are you satisfied? As I said, it takes some time, but when it is upgraded and becomes more effective, it will also become indispensable. If necessary, you can also purchase gold ore at the trader's.

Adventure reserve

From level 37Skip: 149 gems
  • Own at least 3 Adventure(s).
  • Experience Points× 160
Story

Ha ha, look how many adventures I have. Isn't that fantastic? I think you should always have some. I always feel uneasy when I don't have any available. How about you?

On completion: Wow, you have a lot more than me. I suppose I'll have to go and search a bit more, so that's what I'm going to do, straight away. Until next time!

Where to obtain granite

From level 38Skip: 149 gems
  • Experience at least 3 new Adventure(s).
  • Experience Points× 310
  • Coins× 400
Story

Hmm… One of our geologists has just told me that we do not have any granite deposits on this island. That's a shame, as we'll need a lot in the future. Could you check whether you can find granite on the adventure islands?

On completion: Very good! Then we know where to get our granite from. I assume the amount of granite will differ a lot from adventure to adventure, but at least we know where to get it from generally.

The paths to granite

From level 39Skip: 149 gems
  • Have at least 1000 Adventure in your storage.
Story

Now we know where to purchase it from, it is time to do so and get some. As I already said, we'll be needing a lot, so go get! The more you find the better.

On completion: It is really a lot of work gathering granite, but it's essential so don't pay it any further thought. Just one thing - I'm pretty sure you can also obtain granite through trade. Furthermore, one of our explorers told me that he once found a small amount of granite during his journey, but really not very much.

Crossbows

From level 39Skip: 149 gems
  • Have at least 500 Exotic Wood in your storage.
  • Have at least 500 Titanium in your storage.
  • Produce at least 100 Crossbow(s).
  • Experience Points× 210
  • Granite× 200
Story

I know I said I wanted to let you do it on your own, but you mustn't forget that crossbows are made out of titanium and exotic wood. This means you'll need a stock of both these resources to produce crossbows without difficulty.

On completion: It's not easy to produce crossbows on your own, is it? However, they do have a lot of advantages. Not only do crossbowmen have the highest damage output, but crossbows also bring a high price when traded.

Decoration buildings

From level 40Skip: 149 gems
  • Build 5 decoration(s).
  • Experience Points× 200
Story

Hmm… Recently, during an adventure, I found the plans for a flower bed. If I understand correctly, it's a kind of decoration building to beautify your home island, although it doesn't have any other function. Could you please test that theory out?

On completion: So I was right, they are just decorative buildings. It seems you can find them from time to time during adventures. By the way, the merchant also has some of these buildings. Some of them can be somewhat complex.

Attractive prices

From level 40Skip: 149 gems
  • Have 3 level BronzeMine,BronzeMineEndless copper mine(s) of any type in your island.
  • Have 1 level IronMine,IronMineEndless iron mine(s) of any type on your island.
  • Have 1 level GoldMine,GoldMineEndless gold mine(s) of any type on your island.
  • Sell at least 1500 Gold Ore to other players.
  • Sell at least 1500 Iron Ore to other players.
  • Sell at least 1500 Copper Ore to other players.
Story

Did you already notice that the trade prices for selling ore are really advantageous at the moment? Maybe we should make use of this opportunity, construct a few mines, and see if it really pays off.

On completion: So, what do you think? Did it pay off? Of course you have to consider that prices always differ for many different reasons, for example depending on the time of day. So, even if prices are not good one day, they can change completely the next.

The bet

From level 41Skip: 149 gems
  • Adventure · Outlaws × 500
  • Adventure · VictorTheVicious × 50
Story

Bah, my father… He doesn't have much confidence in you, so I've made a bet with him. We bet that you will incur fewer losses during your adventures than he thinks. Now, you just have to prove me right.

On completion: Ha! I just said that. I won the bet. That will teach him to stop underestimating you. To thank you, I'd like to give you something from my reward. Buy yourself something beautiful with it.

The exasperating topic - granite

From level 42Skip: 149 gems
  • Have at least 10000 Granite in your storage.
Story

While you are producing titanium, we should still keep an eye on our granite problem. I know it's an exasperating topic but it has to be dealt with. We should increase our stocks. Whether you trade or find granite yourself is up to you.

On completion: Wow, that much granite in one place is definitely rare, I have to say. I mean, I don't know much about this sort of thing, but just by looking you can see how valuable granite is. Take good care of your granite.

The exasperating topic - exotic wood

From level 43Skip: 149 gems
  • Have at least 10000 Exotic Wood in your storage.
  • Experience Points× 780
  • Granite× 400
Story

Since we are currently working on increasing our stocks, we should continue doing so with exotic wood too. After all, you've been consuming a lot of it lately. Just go about it the same way as with granite.

On completion: I've just returned from my storage inspection, and I have to admit that freshly cut wood smells really fantastic. I also checked the wood for woodworm. Luckily, there isn't any.

The exasperating topic - exotic wood planks

From level 44Skip: 149 gems
  • Have at least 10000 Exotic Wood Planks in your storage.
Story

My greetings. I really appreciate you refilling the stocks of granite and exotic wood, but I would recommend you process some of the exotic wood into planks, especially as our plank consumption has increased a lot recently.

On completion: Oh, that was quick. Thank you very much. I always feel better when I know the most important building materials are in stock. Now I can turn my attention back to the construction plans for the new buildings. Bye for now.

A good man

From level 45Skip: 149 gems
  • Own at least 5 General(s).
  • Experience Points× 1240
Story

A general (also a friend of mine) is resting at our tavern at the moment. Have you already hired multiple generals? If not, now would be a good time to start. He's a really good man.

On completion: The more generals you have, the more effectively you can transport your troops to adventures, and the faster you can defeat bandits. This is why having multiple generals is always a good idea.

The adventure competition

From level 46Skip: 199 gems
  • Complete any 5 adventures.
Story

Wow, did you also receive a letter? I've been invited to participate in the competition too. Of course, I'm going to win, but I wish you luck nonetheless. May the best man win.

On completion: Ha! I was really in front of you by a nose. However, I didn't win either. Little matter - we both qualified for the next round, which means you'll have a chance to get your revenge.

The adventure competition continues

From level 47Skip: 199 gems
  • Complete 3 adventures with a difficulty of 6 or higher.
Story

I've just received the next letter for the adventure competition. I'm so excited. This time it's a bit more difficult, but I love a challenge. I'll start work on it immediately. You too should work hard on it!

On completion: Oh no! This time you were in front of me. I assume I wasn't paying enough attention. Never mind, once again we both qualified for the next round. This one will decide who is the better explorer.

Too many requests

From level 47Skip: 199 gems
  • Adventure · SonsOfTheVeld × 300
  • Adventure · RoaringBull × 50
Story

I don't know what to do. I have so many help requests from other islands, but most of my soldiers have requested vacation, and if they don't get back to their families there will be a lot of awkward questions. Can you answer with the requests by sparing just a few units?

On completion: I'm so very grateful. The help requests were all taken care of, and all the soldiers who requested vacation were able to return home safely too. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you very much.

Follow-up adventures

From level 47Skip: 199 gems
  • Complete either "Old Friends" or "More Secluded Experiments".
  • Complete either "Return to the Bandit's Nest" or "Motherly Love".
  • Experience Points× 700
  • Coins× 200
Story

Oh man… Why am I looking so tired, you say? I've just returned from a follow-up adventure. I found it on a regular mission, and it didn't look that difficult, but man was it tricky. On the plus side, I was rewarded with a plethora of resources and buffs, and even blueprints for a building. Not such a bad deal after all!

On completion: Oh, you just returned from a follow-up adventure? So, how was it? Of course, you won't always find construction plans, but a decent amount of coins is common.

Final round

From level 48Skip: 199 gems
  • Complete the adventure "The Dark Brotherhood".
  • Complete the adventure "The black knights".
Story

Well, now it is getting serious. The final round of the competition has come. I just received the letter. Phew, take deep breaths... I'm really excited, I have to admit. Now it will be decided who is the best explorer. Let's go!

On completion: I'm really impressed. Not only were you better than me, you also won the whole competition. There's no shame in losing to the best. My congratulations. I'm looking forward to competing against you again next time.

Accusations

From level 49Skip: 199 gems
  • Buy at least 10000 Coin(s) from other players.
  • Experience Points× 2000
  • Granite× 200
Story

I've just received a letter from the king. He writes that the king of another kingdom has accused us of having a useless trade network, because you cannot earn gold with it. Because he thinks a great deal of you, the king requests you prove the other king wrong.

On completion: You really taught the other king something. He'll never criticize the trade network again. Even I was surprised how much gold you can earn through it. You've done really well.

Priceless

From level 49Skip: 199 gems
  • Produce at least 500 Cannon(s).
Story

Since we now have a cannon forge, we should increase our stock of cannons a little bit. Cannoneers are priceless in battle, believe me.

On completion: Thank you for listening to my advice. Now you can train cannoneers. Unfortunately, I have to go on a journey, which is why I won't be able to oversee training. I asked the little man… what's his name? Oliver? The little fat one. Anyway, I asked him to help you.

The cannoneers

From level 50Skip: 199 gems
  • Own 200 Cannoneer(s).
Story

Lummy! Lord Sardin asked me to help you oversee the training of the cannoneers, but I don't have a clue how to go about it! I don't know what to say. I think you might be able to do better than me on your own.

On completion: I just knew you didn't need any help. It's a mystery why Lord Sardin always thinks you have to have someone standing by your side for the slightest thing. The man's such a worrier.

The practical test

From level 50Skip: 199 gems
  • Adventure · SecludedExperiments × 10
Story

Well, I'm back. I've already heard how you managed to organize cannoneer training yourself. Looks like I was unnecessarily worried. However, now I'm curious to see how our cannoneers will prove themselves in battle.

On completion: So, what do you think about the cannoneers? I think they are fabulous. If you're ever forced to fight against buildings, they'll be your most effective weapon.

The guilty plea

From level 50Skip: 199 gems
  • Own at least 200000 Coin(s).
Story

You will not believe what I just heard. Do you remember the king who badmouthed our trade network? He's sticking to his opinion and affirms that no one is capable of gathering a certain quantity of riches. I am sure you can prove him wrong again.

On completion: Just as I said it would be. The king had to let someone read out a plea of guilt, taking back everything he had said. It was a complete success. To show his gratitude for your help, the king has sent you a big present.

Something is still missing

From level 50Skip: 199 gems
  • Own at least 1 decoration building(s).
Story

Well, I have to admit your island looks really fantastic, but one thing is still missing - an epic decoration building, a castle or something like that. I'm sure you can find something suitable during one of the adventures.

On completion: Perfect! Now, your island is complete. I think that last touch makes your island one of the most beautiful of all time. By the way, the king thinks so too, and has sent you something as appreciation. Things couldn't get any better!

Exotic Metallurgy

  • Own 1 Metallurgy Knowledge: Copper I buff.
  • Own 1 Metallurgy Knowledge: Iron I buff.
  • Own 1 Metallurgy Knowledge: Gold I buff.
  • Own 1 Metallurgy Knowledge: Titanium I buff.
  • Own 1 Metallurgy Knowledge: Platinum I buff.
Story

My Major, the ore we haul from the earth grows poorer with each season. Yet I have heard tell of distant folk who draw greater bounty from lesser stone. Seek out knowledge scrolls during your adventures and bring them back.

On completion: Remarkable... these markings, these diagrams... We shall need stone foundations, great vats, bellows, pipes, and enough hands to raise such a structure. Let us begin the construction before doubt settles in their hearts.

Next: The First Fires

The First Fires

  • Select the Industrial Ore Refinery
  • Activate "Copper Refinement" 3 times in an epic workyard.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
  • Experience Points× 100
Story

The plans are laid before us, yet a refinery is no humble forge. Every channel must carry molten metal without bursting apart. See the construction finished and the mechanisms set in motion.

On completion: Ha! Hear that rumble? That is the sound of progress itself. Yet the furnace burns weak. Whatever powers these grand refineries in foreign lands, common firewood alone shall not suffice. We have built the beast, Major. Now we must learn how to feed it.

Next: Starved Beast

Starved Beast

  • Select the provision house with your mouse cursor.
  • Produce at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery Fuel.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
  • Experience Points× 100
Story

The refinery consumes fuel like a starving army consumes bread. The old texts speak of refined charcoal and compressed fuel bricks. Strange methods... See that these instructions reach our provisioners.

On completion: So this is the substance... dense, bitter-smelling, yet it burns hotter than seasoned oak ever could. These mechanisms were never meant for ordinary flame, nor crude substitutes. The refinery was designed around fuels and methods we do not yet fully understand.

Next: Feed the Beast

Feed the Beast

  • Use 1x Industrial Ore Refinery Fuel buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

The new fuel will change the refinery entirely. The furnace will burn hot enough to soften the stubborn ores that once resisted us, and the great mechanisms will finally move with the strength their makers intended.

On completion: Extraordinary. The furnaces burn steadier. The yield improves. And still, I suspect we stand only at the threshold of true industry.

  • Complete the quest "Deep Gold Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deep Titanium Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deep Platinum Knowledge".
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

I have studied the recovered plans night after night, and I am certain now: our refinery was never meant to stand alone. There are entire techniques missing from its design.

On completion: Remarkable. The grinders turn true, the crucibles hold, and the smoke rises proudly above the rooftops. For a fleeting moment, I dared believe we had mastered the craft entirely.

Next: Deeper Knowledge

Deep Iron Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Iron I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Iron is less forgiving than copper. The refinery can melt it, aye, but not consistently. We must improve the furnace lining and reinforce the pressure systems if we are to tame iron properly.

On completion: Durable and fit for arms and armor rather than simple farm tools. The town guard already boasts that their next blades shall be forged from refinery iron. Your investment begins to reshape this town's strength itself.

Deep Gold Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Gold I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Gold tests precision more than strength. Even the slightest impurity dulls its shine and lowers its worth. We must learn finer separation techniques if we wish our gold to rival royal minting standards.

On completion: Beautiful. The gold gleams bright enough to mirror candlelight itself. Traders who once mocked our refinery now seek contracts with eager hands.

Deep Titanium Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Titanium I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Titanium is unlike any ore we have refined before. The heat required to shape it strains the furnace beyond safe limits, while ordinary crucibles weaken and split under the pressure. If we are to master this metal, the refinery itself must grow stronger.

On completion: The titanium emerged lighter than iron, yet stronger than steel. Even the master smiths could scarcely believe what they held. We stand upon the edge of a new age of craftsmanship.

Deep Platinum Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Platinum I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Platinum may prove the greatest challenge yet. Our current methods leave too many impurities trapped within the metal. To refine platinum properly, we must achieve a level of precision beyond anything attempted before.

On completion: The platinum shines with a pale brilliance unlike gold or silver. Even in small quantities, its value rivals entire wagonloads of lesser metals. The refinery has reached heights once thought impossible.

  • Complete the quest "Deeper Iron Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deeper Gold Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deeper Titanium Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deeper Platinum Knowledge".
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Several portions of the design remain unfinished, almost deliberately so. Empty chambers. Unused pressure lines. Space reserved for techniques absent from the scrolls we gathered.

On completion: There was a time when this town knew only smoke from humble smithies and the ring of worn hammers. Now behold it. Great furnaces thunder day and night.

Next: Deepest Knowledge

Deeper Copper Knowledge

  • Use 24x Metallurgy Knowledge: Copper I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

The refinery functions well enough, Major, yet the copper it yields still bears too much waste within it. I believe the furnace temperatures can be controlled more precisely. With proper calibration, we may yet improve the quality of our copper greatly.

On completion: Look at the shine upon those ingots. A simple improvement, perhaps, yet proof that refinement itself may be refined.

Deeper Iron Knowledge

  • Use 24x Metallurgy Knowledge: Iron I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

The new iron techniques have exposed another weakness. Our bellows cannot maintain steady airflow during prolonged refinement, ruining entire batches. Larger pressure chambers may solve the matter.

On completion: The flames burn hotter and steadier than ever before. Iron production has become predictable rather than perilous.

Deeper Gold Knowledge

  • Use 24x Metallurgy Knowledge: Gold I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Several crucibles cracked during the last operation, and excessive temperatures ruined entire batches. If we improve the heat regulators and insulate the refining chambers, we may preserve far more precious metal.

On completion: Splendid work. Losses have fallen sharply, and the purity of each gold bar surpasses anything we have produced before.

Deeper Titanium Knowledge

  • Use 24x Metallurgy Knowledge: Titanium I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Titanium refinement pushes our systems dangerously close to failure. Pipes warp, and entire chambers tremble under the furnace heat. We require reinforced materials and advanced cooling systems if the refinery is to survive continued operation.

On completion: Where once the machinery buckled beneath the strain, it now operates with surprising stability. The workers speak of the refinery with awe, as though it were some great mechanical beast brought under your command.

Deeper Platinum Knowledge

  • Use 24x Metallurgy Knowledge: Platinum I buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Our platinum techniques succeed, yet only barely. Minute flaws within the furnace alignment throw entire refinement cycles into ruin. If we improve the refinery's internal precision, the results may surpass all expectations.

On completion: The refinery now handles platinum with remarkable consistency, producing bars of astonishing purity. Word of our achievements spreads far beyond neighboring lands.

  • Complete the quest "Deepest Gold Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deepest Titanium Knowledge".
  • Complete the quest "Deepest Platinum Knowledge".
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Rumors speak of northern engineers who harness steam pressure, desert metallurgists who separate ore with powdered salts, and distant island artisans who refine steel through repeated folding and purification.

On completion: Scholars, merchants, and smiths alike journey here simply to witness the refinery in operation. The refinery stands as a monument to ambition, knowledge, and relentless progress. The people shall remember this achievement long after we are gone. Not merely a refinery. A legacy.

Deepest Copper Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Copper II buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Now that the copper runs cleaner, another flaw reveals itself. Too much heat escapes through the exhaust channels, and the molten metal cools before the casting process is complete. If we redesign the furnace flow, we may increase both yield and speed alike.

On completion: Excellent work, Major. The copper now pours like water from the furnace, and the workers produce twice the ingots with much less effort.

Deepest Iron Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Iron II buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Though the iron quality improves, waste still gathers within the slag pits. Too much usable metal is lost during the refinement process. If we recover these remnants and refine them anew, our efficiency may rival the greatest foundries of distant kingdoms.

On completion: The refinery wastes almost nothing now. Iron flows steadily from even poor-quality ore, and our stores grow faster than ever before. This is no longer mere experimentation, Major. This is mastery.

Deepest Gold Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Gold II buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Now that our gold refinement nears perfection, demand grows beyond our current capacity. We must strengthen the refinery's upper systems and stabilize the production flow before prosperity destroys its own source.

On completion: The refinery now produces gold with both speed and precision unimaginable only a few seasons ago. What once stood as smoke and scaffolding has become the beating heart of this town's prosperity.

Deepest Titanium Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Titanium II buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

Though we can now refine titanium, the process remains painfully slow. If we redirect the furnace flow and optimize the pressure network, production may improve dramatically.

On completion: Titanium refinement now proceeds with efficiency few would dare imagine possible. The town has become a marvel of industry.

Deepest Platinum Knowledge

  • Use 16x Metallurgy Knowledge: Platinum II buffs on your own island.
  • Have at least 1 Industrial Ore Refinery(s) on your island.
Story

On completion: The first print of the "Settlers and Bandits" rulebook has been distributed, and I'm starting to see small groups playing! "Settlers and Bandits" is the name I came up with for the game. It may not be very original, but I think it's catchy. Don't you agree?

Story

We found this leaflet from a barterer called "Bart". It says he pays well for rare materials. I thought our economy could use a little boost, so I decided to invite him over.

On completion: Bart's visit was definitely very profitable - both for us, and for him. We've obtained some nice rare materials that will certainly come in handy, and he got... well whatever junk he asked for, I guess? Maybe we should invite him again sometime? He was such a nice guy.

Bartering Basics

Story

Bart the barterer has arrived on the island. He mentioned he hasn't had much interest from his leaflets, so he's willing to make us a good deal. He's offered me a small (horrible) marble statue, and has asked for a similar statue made of hardwood. Let's use our provision house to produce the goods he's asked for - just make sure you don't clog the production line!

On completion: Bart is pleased with the deal, but I have to say... This marble statue is UGLY! Perhaps we should demolish it, and recycle the marble? Yes, I think that's a good idea.

Story

Bart's second deal is a first edition of a rare encyclopedia that he thinks may be useful for our specialists. He's willing to offer it to us, in exchange for a hand-crafted replica of an ancient brass sword.

On completion: It may not exactly be brass, but it seems that it's close enough. Bart likes this sword even more, so everyone is happy!

Complimentary Dinner

Repeatable
  • Use 1x Gourmet Meal buffs on your own island.
Story

Since Bart is going to be staying with us for a few days, I think it would be a nice gesture of goodwill to offer him something to eat. Why don't we treat him to some really fancy food? Perhaps this way he'll give us a discount next time...

On completion: I feel a little jealous that Bart had the chance to eat such a succulent dinner. Ah... I'm hungry now...

Story

Bart seems to have taken a liking to us, so he offers us a new deal. He wants a table made of exotic wood and sturdy steel, and will exchange it for a really big granite doorstop. What do you think?

On completion: Well, this is a sturdy doorstop. In fact, maybe a little too sturdy... I'm pretty sure we can make cheaper, reliable doorstops out of our own wood. I suggest we re-use the granite from this, and put it to work as something a bit more useful.

Coin Collection

Repeatable
  • Pay 200 Coins from your storage.

Story

Bart is pleased with the business he's done with us, but he now has a personal request. He tries to collect coins from everywhere he goes, so he would be really happy to trade some refined weaponry for some of our coins, and a golden statue. Otherwise it wouldn't be bartering, would it?

On completion: Bart seems to be really happy with the coins we gave him. I don't really get it. We only use one kind of coin as a currency after all, but he seems to firmly believe that every single one is different. Collectors are interesting people, indeed.

If we are to hire The Annoholics to come to our island, we will need to prepare a contract for them, and ready an upfront payment. Please provide some paper and coins so our messengers can deliver the contract.

On completion: They accepted our offer! W-what? You thought I was trying to scam them by adding some shady clauses in ridiculously small print? No, no! Only bad people do that! The fine print was only to cover our backs in case something happens, that's all! I swear!

The Stage

Repeatable

Now that we have a contract with them, we'll need to prepare a proper stage so that they can play for us. Please contact our specialist at the provision house, and bring the stage over to the mayor's house when it's ready.

On completion: These instruments are a fine piece of work! The band is impressed and can't wait to try them out! They will need some rehearsal time to get used to them, though.

Well, now this is a peculiar compass. It has quite an odd design, and doesn't actually seem to point north, like every other compass... I wonder if there's more to this little artefact?

On completion: Well, those were some strange coins! I'm not sure how useful they'll be, but at the very least, we've obtained some knowledge about hidden treasures and legends from the past. And you know what they say - knowledge is the most precious of treasures! In future, let's hope we find a pirate treasure that can pay the bills, though.

What a mysterious compass this is. It clearly does not point north, but that begs the question - where IS it pointing? One of our researchers thinks he may have an idea about how to solve this mystery, but he needs to have some specific documentation to help him figure it out.

On completion: The researcher has found a similarity in the design of the compass and an old pirate legend from the past. He's very grateful to us for letting him study such an interesting artefact.

Treasure Hunt!

Story

Our research indicates that the curious compass is attuned to a certain specific metal. This metal was used by pirates, in years gone by, to stash their treasure so they could easily find it again later. It seems we may have found some treasure! Let's follow the compass towards other islands, and see how it behaves then.

On completion: Nothing around here, apparently... It's strange. Although the compass has very slightly shifted directions, it seems to always be pointing... East?

No matter how often we check it, it seems that the only constant is that it's always pointing east. Perhaps we should try looking there?

On completion: While fighting the bandits, we managed to find the chest the compass was pointing to! It seems heavy, and we don't have a key to open it, but at least we can take it home and decide what to do with it there.

The Master Key

Repeatable
  • Use 1x Robust Key buffs on your own island.
Story

The chest is ours - but without a key, it's little more than a really heavy box. Fortunately, we have a locksmith waiting in our provision house that assures me that with enough materials, he can find a key that'll open the chest for us. He promised not to look inside if he manages to get it open.

On completion: The locksmith arrived in a bit of a hurry. The chest is open! Let's go check it out!

Story

We just found a statue of a little idol. It seems an ancient civilization may have lived on this island long ago! Our local scholars cannot wait for you to let them investigate it so we can learn more!

On completion: I sometimes regret having sold that little idol. What if instead of a cheap knock-off, it was an actual piece of culture from an ancient civilization? What if that civilization were simply known for being scammers and liars? Aaah, too many questions. My head hurts. I'm going to take a nap.

Our scholars are trying to isolate what kind of material the idol is made of. They've asked if they can borrow some materials fresh from our stores so they can compare consistency, weight, and a lot other words that I don't know what they mean.

On completion: The scholars have come back with the results of their research, and the results are... inconclusive. They don't seem to be able to figure out what it's made of!

Have You Seen This?

Repeatable
  • Apply 15 buff(s) on your friends' buildings.
Story

As it turns out, the idol isn't made of any material we've seen before. We could always ask the scholars living on our allies' islands, and see if they have any idea what it might be? Oh, but don't forget to take them some presents! We don't want to come across as greedy, do we?

On completion: One of our allies recognized the idol. The idol represents a deity that some ancient civilization worshipped. Rumour has it, this civilization was so wealthy, they made everything out of pure gold!

Rust-B-Gone

Repeatable
  • Use 1x Rust-B-Gone buffs on your own island.
  • Experience Points× 80

Story

If what our allies said is true, and this idol is actually made of pure gold, it must be covered by a huge amount of dirt and rust... Fortunately, my grandma knows how to make a special liquid that'll remove any rust from gold in the space of just a few hours. Or so she says! We should be able to replicate it in our provision house.

On completion: Well, our scholars are convinced that if the idol had been made of gold, they would have known. So their best guess is that this civilization did not actually have stuff made of pure gold - they simply made it look like it instead! A fake!

Still Worth It

Let's try to look on the bright side. Regardless of what the idol's made of, I'm sure that if it contains even a small amount of gold, we can probably sell it for a profit. It is still a very pretty decoration.

On completion: Our tradesmen definitely have some interest in the idol. However, due to its special nature, we can't just offer it to anyone. Fortunately, I got contacted by a potential buyer that's offering a nice price for it!

Story

I bring dire news, my lord! One of our wood workers just found this really sharp claw while in the forest! I have never seen anything of this nature, but one thing is for certain - it's come from a big beast.

On completion: Bah, it was nothing more than a conveniently shaped rock! The geologist must have been seeing things, with the darkness and everything. Actually, looking a bit more closely, this "claw" could be nothing more than a sharp, oddly-coloured mineral. There's probably no beast to worry about after all. Strange, how our minds can play tricks on us like that, eh?

Search Party

If we're going to search for this beast, we must be very thorough. Gather your explorers for a scouting party, and send them out to search for it. If they happen to bring some treasure in the process, then all the better!

On completion: The explorers have not been able to find anything. Neither the beast itself, nor any evidence of its existence. Perhaps it's a docile beast? No, what am I saying... This claw is not from a docile creature!

We searched the whole island, but we found nothing. Maybe we should search below the surface of the island, too? Maybe the geologists will find something underground...

On completion: The geologists have returned. One of them is as white as a sheet, and stammers that he saw a huge gray monster underground. Upon hearing its massive roar, he ran away as fast as he could. This doesn't look good, my lord. We have to do something to protect our people!

Better Be Safe

Repeatable
  • Use 1x Armored Cage buffs on your own island.
Story

Having heard the most recent testimony from our geologists, it's safe to say we cannot afford to take any risks. We need to prepare for the worst! If what they said is true, we'll need a really sturdy, and really BIG cage to put the beast in. Let's go to the provision house, and get to work!

On completion: Yes, this looks good. It can probably hold a bear. Or two. Or Fifty! It's very sturdy!

All the Bravest

Repeatable
  • Own 30 Recruit(s).
  • Own 30 Bowmen.
Story

With the cage finished, all we need to do now is send a squad of the bravest soldiers to take care of the beast. I've already contacted the barracks, and they are willing to provide the bravest men they can out of their next batch of recruits.

On completion: The men braved the cave, but upon reaching the place the geologist described, they only found an odd formation of rocks. As for the roar? Apparently one of the caves below caved in, which may have sounded like a roar to him. The poor guy was in the right place, at the wrong time.

We found this message in a bottle addressed to a woman named "Miranda". The contents are about how much a man loves and misses her. It's all very cheesy if you ask me, but I'd feel bad if this letter was never received.

On completion: Jonas is really grateful for all the help we've given him. He says that he owes us his life, and therefore would like to spend it here, with us. He's going to go pick up Miranda and settle down here. How great is that?

Although we don't know who this person is, we should try and send him some sort of reply. He definitely got the wrong person! We should train a messenger pigeon at our provision house to send our message back to where it came from!

On completion: The pigeon has flown the nest. Now let's hope it uses its training to take the letter to the right man.

Story

When I first found this brooch, I thought that it was an ornament for clothing - but when the children around town saw me holding it, they started telling me how it belongs to a vigilante called "The Custodian", that has been fighting crime on this island. This requires more investigation!

On completion: Unfortunately, the Custodian does not feel to be ready to become a general as of now. She hasn't completely written off becoming one in future, however, and she's convinced that someone else would take the Custodian mantle. We'll let her continue her vigilantism for now. At least she's following our regulations now.

Outreach

Story

The first mystery we must solve is: Does this vigilante operate only on our island, or is he some sort of travelling hero? Let's pay a visit to some other places. Have our generals yell "The Custodian is coming!" and see if our enemies react.

On completion: Strange. Nobody reacted when the generals yelled the name. In fact, I could have sworn that some of them even laughed. This can only mean one thing: "The Custodian" is one of our very own settlers.

Staging a Robbery

Story

I'm a bit worried that this vigilante might not fight crime "by-the-book" so to speak... So, I've come up with a cunning plan. We'll fake a robbery in one of our houses, and make a huuuuge racket while doing so. That will certainly attract The Custodian's attention - and perhaps then, we can have a proper chat. Let's prepare some flimsy props in our provision house to make this more realistic.

On completion: Oh wow, that definitely looked ugly. I think our actor may have broken a couple of ribs! Now with the incident clarified, perhaps the Custodian will listen to us. I never expected a lady to be so... brutal.

Please provide the necessary materials to do this.

We will construct a difficult obstacle course, which you'll need to provide materials for. Don't worry, though - once the test is done, we can re-use most of the materials used.

On completion: It took a bit of effort, but she managed to pass the test. Granted, this is not a test that an unprepared person should be able to easily pass, so given the short length of time she took, this makes it all the more impressive.

On completion: The poor thing doesn't look happy at the prospect of going back to its loudmouth of a master. I cannot say I blame it. Hey, how's this for a suggestion. Story

An old merchant's journal has found its way into our hands. Most of its pages contain the usual notes on prices, cargo and questionable business partners, but the final entries are different. They describe preparations for one last voyage along a forgotten trade route. They also hint at something valuable he discovered along the way. Perhaps we should follow in his footsteps?

On completion: What a journey! We've retraced the merchant's final voyage and discovered the legacy he left behind in a distant land. Now that we've learned how this tradition has lived on, perhaps it's time to bring it back home with us.

  • Pay 1 manuscript(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 1 tome(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 1 codex (codices) from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 32000

Story

Following Old Routes

Repeatable
  • Complete 2 mini missions.
Story

The route in the journal is old... very old. Some landmarks have changed, others seem to have disappeared entirely, and one supposed drawing seems to be nothing more than a spilled cup of coffee. Still, there should be enough left to follow the merchant's trail. Let's explore some of the smaller destinations along the way.

On completion: The old route still exists! Our journey has confirmed several landmarks from the journal, and the merchant's notes are becoming easier to follow. It seems he really did travel this way.

  • Pay 5000 Sausage(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 10000 Bread from your storage.
  • Pay 500 Coins from your storage.
Story

If we're going any farther, we'll need to prepare properly. The merchant's notes mention long stretches without a friendly port in sight, so we'll need plenty of provisions and a capable escort. Elite soldiers should be up to the task. A fair wage ought to help with that.

On completion: The provisions are loaded, the soldiers are ready and the purse is considerably lighter. In other words: we're perfectly prepared for a long journey.

Into Uncharted Waters

Repeatable
  • Have your specialists complete 10 "Adventure Search (medium)" task(s).
  • Complete 1 adventure with a difficulty of 9 or higher.
Story

The easy part of the route ends here. According to the journal, what follows is a long voyage through unfamiliar and dangerous waters. We'll need experienced adventurers and reliable information from our explorers if we want to stay on the merchant's trail.

On completion: The provisions are loaded, our escort is assembled and, judging by the soldiers' mood, they seem quite satisfied with their pay. Everything is ready. It's time to set sail and follow the merchant's route into unknown waters.

Trade Gifts

Repeatable
  • Use 3x Trade Gifts buffs on your own island.
Story

After a long voyage, we've finally reached a distant trading port mentioned in the merchant's journal. The locals have an unusual tradition: travellers are welcomed with small souvenirs to remember their visit. According to the journal, this custom was started many years ago by none other than our merchant! His final entry contains a simple reminder: "Never arrive empty-handed." We should follow his example. Let's prepare some gifts of our own before we meet our hosts.

On completion: Our gifts were very well received! In return, our hosts have shared their own collection of travel souvenirs with us. Among them, we discovered something remarkable: the old merchant's original notes on the tradition he started here. Perhaps we can continue it back home.

Expansion Plans

  • Produce at least 5000 Bread.
  • Pay 5000 Bread from your storage.
  • Produce at least 10000 Brew.
  • Pay 10000 Brew from your storage.
  • Pay 1000 Coins from your storage.
  • Pay 1000 advanced paper(s) from your storage.
Story

Every great expedition begins with a plan. Preferably a good one. Let's gather experienced settlers, hear their ideas and turn all that enthusiasm into something we can actually work with. We'll need food to draw a proper crowd, and enough paper to record the useful suggestions... and perhaps a few of the less useful ones.

On completion: That was quite the gathering! We have maps, proposals and more ideas than we know what to do with. Someone even suggested building the ships out of bread... we'll keep that one as a backup plan. Just in case.

The Demand Is Demonstrated

  • Have at least 1 Harbor(s) on your island.
  • Let 200 Settlers emigrate via the harbor.
Story

Our gathering produced plenty of ideas, but not everyone is convinced that opening new routes is worth the effort. Perhaps a little proof would help? Let's see how many settlers are actually willing to leave the safety of our island and seek their fortune overseas.

On completion: Well, that should settle the argument! There certainly seems to be no shortage of volunteers. Now we'd better find a place to send them.

Finding New Routes

  • Have your specialists complete 2 "Adventure Search (short)" task(s).
  • Have your specialists complete 2 "Adventure Search (medium)" task(s).
  • Have your specialists complete 2 "Adventure Search (long)" task(s).
  • Experience Points× 2500
Story

The farther we sail from familiar waters, the less useful our old maps become. Reefs, storms, pirates. Send out our explorers and let them chart possible routes to distant shores.

On completion: Splendid work from our explorers, as always! We've found several promising routes and even signs of distant islands. Time to prepare for a proper voyage.

Provisioning the Crews

  • Produce at least 2000 Bread.
  • Produce at least 1000 Sausage(s).
  • Produce at least 5000 tool(s) in your workyards.
  • Produce at least 10000 Water.
  • Pay 500 Coins from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 2500
  • Barazek× 1
Story

Our explorers have found possible routes, but some of them stretch far beyond familiar waters. Any crew attempting such a voyage will need proper provisions, sturdy equipment, enough food and, of course, decent pay.

On completion: Everything is packed, the crews are provisioned and their wages are paid. No excuses left. The voyages can begin!

To Settle Is Our Nature

  • Let 500 Settlers emigrate via the harbor.
Story

Preparations are taking longer than expected, and some of our volunteers are becoming restless. They signed up to discover distant lands, after all, not to spend their days watching crates being counted. Let's keep the voyages going while we finish our preparations.

On completion: Their enthusiasm is certainly unbroken. If anything, we seem to have more volunteers than when we started!

Secure Routes

  • Complete the quest "Reports From Faraway Lands".
  • Complete the quest "The Last Pier".
  • Complete the quest "Harbor Expansion".
Story

We found someone! A fishing boat drifted into one of our newly charted routes. The fisherman is badly injured. He speaks of distant settlements, merchant vessels... and pirates preying on anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path. So there really are people beyond these waters. If we want to trade with them, we'll have to make the routes safe first.

On completion: The routes are secure, merchant ships are arriving and our expanded harbor is ready to handle the traffic. We've opened the way to distant lands and new trading partners. Who knows what else these routes might bring to our shores?

Reports From Faraway Lands

  • Complete the adventure "The Island of the Pirates"
  • Complete the adventure "Gunpowder"
  • Complete the venture "Valuable Intel"
Story

The fisherman's reports were accurate. Scouts have identified several pirate and bandit strongholds threatening ships along our new routes. If we want merchants to travel these waters, we'll need to persuade those villains to seek another profession.

On completion: The worst of the threats have been dealt with, and merchant ships are already returning to the routes.

The Last Pier

  • Pay 10000 Hardwood Plank(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 10000 Marble from your storage.
  • Pay 7500 Tool(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 500 Granite from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 5000
Story

The islands we've discovered are ideal for trade, and more settlers are eager to make the journey every day. But these new routes are long, and our little harbor was never designed for this much traffic. If we're serious about overseas trade, we'll need larger piers, better facilities and room for proper merchant vessels.

On completion: Everything is ready. The harbor can finally be expanded into a proper trading post.

Harbor Expansion

  • Have at least 1 level Harbour building(s) from the following list: .
Story

The materials are ready and the plans have been approved. All that's left is to put them together and turn our harbor into a trading post worthy of the routes we've opened.

On completion: Magnificent! Bigger piers, more storage and enough room for merchant ships. Our little harbor has certainly come a long way.

Discover Mysteries

  • Complete the quest "Inauguration Day".
  • Complete the quest "Strange Reports".
  • Complete the quest "Investigating the Waters".
  • Complete the quest "The Ghost Ship's Chest".
  • Experience Points× 10000
Story

Strange reports have begun arriving from settlers, merchants and crews travelling our new routes. Lights where no ships should be, bells heard through the fog, cargo disappearing without a trace... Sailors do enjoy a good story, of course. Still, perhaps we should find out whether these are merely tall tales or whether something really is lurking out there.

On completion: So the stories were true after all. I suppose we'll have to take sailors' tales a little more seriously from now on... some of them at least.

Inauguration Day

  • Use 50x buffs on your own island.
  • Let 200 Settlers emigrate via the harbor.
Story

Before we chase rumours into the fog, our new harbor deserves a proper inauguration. Merchants, sailors and settlers have travelled a long way to be here, so let's get the whole island involved. Give our food producers a little boost so they can prepare enough for the festivities, then welcome our guests and send the first emigrants on their way.

On completion: What an inauguration! The tables are empty, the ships are full and the harbor is busier than ever. Now, about those rather unsettling reports from the open sea...

Strange Reports

  • Have your specialists complete 2 "Adventure Search (long)" task(s).
  • Pay 800 Exotic Wood from your storage.
  • Pay 600 Titanium Ore from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 7500
Story

Another ship has arrived with a strange report. The crew claims they saw strange lights moving through the fog shortly before several crates vanished from their cargo hold. No attackers, no pirates, just missing goods and a very nervous crew. Send our explorers along the affected routes and replace the lost cargo while we investigate.

On completion: The missing cargo has been replaced, but the reports are becoming harder to dismiss. Different crews, different routes, always the same fog, strange lights and things that shouldn't be there. Something is definitely going on.

Investigating the Waters

  • Delegate 100 Soldier(s) from your storage.
  • Delegate 100 Longbowman/men from your storage.
  • Delegate 50 cannoneer(s) from your storage.
  • Have your specialists complete 2 "Treasure search (long)" task(s).
Story

Enough rumours. We'll send an armed expedition to investigate the waters ourselves. Prepare a crew of experienced soldiers and marksmen, and have our explorers search the most suspicious routes. If there really is something hiding in that fog, we'll find it.

On completion: Our expedition found something... but I'm not sure we'll like the answer. They encountered an old ship drifting silently through the fog without any crew in sight. Yet lights moved below deck. Before they could investigate further, the ship vanished. It did, however, leave something behind...

The Ghost Ship's Chest

  • Pay 100 map fragments from your storage.
  • Pay 100 Gunpowder from your storage.
  • Pay 100 Magic Bean(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 100 Sausage(s) from your storage.
  • Pay 100 Steel Sword(s) from your storage.
  • Experience Points× 7500
Story

Our expedition recovered an old sea chest from the waters where the mysterious ship disappeared. The lock is unlike anything we've seen before. Maybe the blacksmith will find a way to open it? Give him whatever he asks for...

On completion: I'm not entirely sure what the blacksmith tried in the end. Judging by the state of the chest, probably everything. But it worked! Inside were treasures and something far more curious: plans bearing the image of our harbor... except it looks abandoned, shrouded in fog and occupied by rather translucent sailors. How comforting.
